The Rock Island 5 Miler is part of the Tennessee State Park Running tour. This is the 39th year of the State Parks Running Tour, the longest state parks running series in the U.S. It consists of 21 road races, of which two are trail races with distances varying from 5 to 13 miles. All races are held on Saturdays from October to March at 11 AM local time in 21 different State Parks, located from Memphis to Kingsport.
These events are sponsored by local running clubs, which are responsible for registration, timing and results. The State Parks provide facilities, race security and traffic control. Walkers are welcome.
The race start and registration sign in takes place at the Recreation Hall near the back of the park
Entry fee for the race is $10. If you wish to order a race t-shirt (long sleeve), the entry fee will be $22. The last day to register for the t-shirt option will be one week prior to the race. The entry fee starting one week prior to the race (including race day) increases to $15 (no shirt).
