All runners for the 7 mile run must be able to maintain a 12 minute per mile pace average for the 7 mile course so that everyone is finished no later than 9AM. The 7 Mile course takes runners across the main highway through Lynchburg to a low traffic, scenic, rural portion of Moore County. In order for the Moore County Sheriff”s Department to control traffic for the runners finishing and coming back across the highway, the runners will have to be finished before 9AM. This will be the busiest traffic day of the year in Lynchburg and stopping traffic on the highway after 9 will be difficult if not impossible.
The 5K Run/Walk is a family friendly course which is a relatively flat out and back course starting on the town square and going out Main Street to the highway and back.

We are not offering the ladies sizing this year because we have found that some of the shirt manufacturers sizing on the ladies shirts are so very unpredictable. We want to avoid having shirt which are 2 or 3 sizes too small.

Parking in Lynchburg on Barbecue Saturday can be challenging. The square and Wiseman Park will be closed to parking. The Craig Street Park and the Lynchburg Elementary School may be the best bets for ample parking. Both are a short walk to the square. There are also several businesses and homes close to the square which allow parking in their lots/yards for a small fee. The parking process may take a little time to navigate, so plan on arriving early.
