The Slawburger Chase 5K is held in conjunction with the Fayetteville Slawburger Festival.
Always Endure has raised a total of $30,499.57 to help offset medical bills for those battling cancer over the four years it has been in existence.
This year's beneficiary:
Travis Creasy began teaching Bible, History, and Physical Education at Riverside Christian Academy in 2007 and became their head football coach in 2013. He was diagnosed on October 16, 2018, with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. He began treatment at Huntsville Hospital the day he was diagnosed and was there through November 21. He is now doing outpatient chemotherapy treatments five days a week for ten weeks. As of January 4th, he is halfway through the “consolidation phase” of treatment, and they will do a repeat bone marrow biopsy this coming Monday, January 7, 2019. His wife Whitney is also a teacher at Riverside Christian Academy and they are fostering-to-adopt two young siblings.
Packet pick up will be on Friday, April 19, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Fayetteville’s Youth Center (called The Hub; 210 Elk Avenue N, Fayetteville, TN 37334).
